New Navy League Website

We are always seeking new ways to create the best experience possible for our valuable membership that serves as the lifeblood of this organization. We are proud to announce to you the latest project out of Navy League headquarters aimed at creating value for you as we strive to achieve new goals for our organization, as outlined in the 2020 National President’s Guidance.

Our members can now enjoy an intuitive, aesthetically pleasing, and easier to use website. We spearheaded this effort with you in mind, after receiving your valuable feedback.

Here are a few of the features you can experience on the new NavyLeague.org:

Easier Navigation
The new website has reconfigured the navigation menu into a larger mega-menu that displays every page you can navigate to at once. This will make it easier to find pages right away, without searching through different dropdown options. Right by the mega-menu is also a search bar located at the top of the website, so you can quickly find what you are looking for if it is more specific than any items in the mega-menu. This design, featuring our types of membership and how to join directly at the top of the page is also designed to attract new members.

Your Membership Dashboard
Instead of a long list of members-only content featured formerly located under the “Member Resources” tab, now our members that log into the website can view this content through an all-encompassing Membership Dashboard. Through this dashboard you will be able to:

· Download your own membership e-card right at the top of the page

· Use our “Quick Links” section to navigate to many of the items that you are used to seeing on the former website

· Access to the latest issue of Seapower magazine

· Access the latest Training video

· Calendar items relevant to you

· Committee information for our members that are on some of our national committees

· A link to the annual report form and access to our rosters, visible to our council officers

· Information on your members-only discounts

A New Legislative Affairs Action Center
Our ability to affect change through our grassroots advocacy efforts makes the Navy League stand out and is central to our mission. Now members can access important materials on each of the sea services via our new Legislative Affairs Action Center. The contents of this page were available on the prior website to our Legislative Affairs Committee, but this new site makes them available to everyone, so we can continue to affect change with our voice on Capitol Hill and on the local level.

Updated Blog Content Featuring Our Council Activities
The best way to attract new members is to spread the word on our mission and our current efforts. To this aim, we are debuting the new Navy League news page. This page, which is also featured on our homepage, has stories about what our councils have recently accomplished, repurposing some of our Seapower Council Digest content for all to see. You are vital to our mission, and this new site makes it clear to non-members that the Navy League truly is a great place to volunteer.

Overall, we are confident this site will be a better experience for you, our members, and we are sure its new design and mobile-friendly enhancements over our last website, will assist in our efforts to attract new and younger members to our organization.

If you have any feedback on the new website, please let National Executive Director Mike Stevens know via email at mstevens@navyleague.org.
