VP Council Programs/Event planning.
Serve as the lead for Council program with the general public. These can include, but is not limited to Annual Navy Ball, Airshows, Fleet Weeks, special events, select parades. As the lead person is responsible for developing an annual budget for the events that will occur that year that will be approved by the board. The person is also responsible for developing and leading the team that will execute the events and coordinating the appropriate communications needs for the events.
The Navy League participated in two events on Saturday Dec 14th. Wreaths Across America where members of the Navy League amongst representatives of other branches laid wreaths at the gravesites of those buried at Fort Snelling.
Later that day, it was a festive atmosphere at the James Ballentine Uptown VFW as various Navy organizations came together to watch Navy beat Army 31-13.
This quarter, the Navy League is organizing a night out at the Minnesota Wild game on Thursday March 13th as they take on the New York Rangers. Tickets (upper-level ends) are $35 each and can be reserved/purchased by contacting Jeanette Sterner at 612-751-0263 or Jeanmjoe@aol.com . These are first come first serve. The plan is to meet up at 5:30 at Alary's in St. Paul and then take the shuttles over to the game around 6:30. Alary’s offers parking, the shuttle and a post-game drink for $6 per person. Looking ahead, the Navy League is planning its annual meeting for all members to come together in April as well as some other spring and summer events. Additional details will be communicated soon and finally, a tentative save the date to celebrate the US Navy and Marine Corp's 250th Birthday is (tentative) October 11th at the Radisson Blu in Bloomington.
