VP Adopted Ships, Active/Reserve Units. 

Serves as the key contact with Minnesota based active and maritime units including the Naval Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG), Naval Operations Support Center, Marine Aircraft Wing Support Squadron 471, Marine Corps Recruiting Station, Maritime Support Unit Duluth, and Merchant Marine units throughout the state.  Coordinates with adopted ships (i.e., USS Minnesota, USS Minneapolis Saint Paul and USCGC Spar to determine needs.  Submits and annual budget which is approved by the Council for these support elements so that appropriate funding or sponsorship can be gotten to fund these activities. 

USS MINNESOTA SSN 783

USS Minnesota conducted a homeport change to Guam and she arrived in Guam in late November. On December 5, CDR Issac Pelt was relieved by CDR Jeffrey Cornielle. The Minnesota Navy League, in partnership with the Minnesota Twins, provided a custom Twins Jersey with the hull number 783 on the jersey as a gift to CDR Pelt for his tour on board. USS Minnesota families continue to travel to Guam to join their service members. USS Minnesota will be the first Virginia-class fast attack submarine to be homeported in Guam.

USS MINNEAPOLIS SAINT PAUL LCS 21

Minneapolis Saint Paul hosted their Change of Command on November 22. CDR Justin Neff will be moving on to his next duty station after serving as commanding officer for the past two years. CDR Neff took MSP through a 7-month maintenance availability in preparation for their initial deployment in 2025. The new Commanding Officer is the former XO, CDR Steven Fresse. The new Executive Officer is CDR Arthur Bond and the Senior Enlisted is CMDCM Ampier. The Minnesota Navy League, in partnership with the Minnesota Twins, presented a replica Twin Jersey with the number 21 on the back. MSP will continue preparing for its 2025 deployment by continuing its workups and qualifications for the crew.
