This past quarter has been very busy for VP Community Engagement. Joyce Lacey represented the Navy League at the Wheels, Tracks and Wings Event for the Month of the Military Child at the Elbow Lake Airport April 27th and attended the Twin Cities Squadron of the U. S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps Chief Pinning Ceremony of Maguire Weiland April 28th.
Lacey had an opportunity to speak with Legislators at the Minnesota State Capitol March 19th and April 17th regarding the importance of Sea Services and Veterans issues such as Soldier Suicide Prevention and housing issues.
Joyce delivered Easter Lilies to Veterans Homes and the Veterans Hospital in the Twin Cities for Easter and represented the Navy League serving Easter Dinner at the Union Gospel Mission. She also organized the Navy League table at the Twin Cities Auto Show April 2nd.
VP Community Engagement represented the Navy League and helped serve Dinner for the American Legion Birthday Party on March 16th at the Peterson Tripp Post in Ashby and helped serve lunch to the entire community following Memorial Day Ceremonies May 27th.
Lacey attended the 2024 Midwest Region Annual Navy League Conference April 19-20 and helped organize the Navy League's involvement in the Twin Cities Honor Flight May 6th. She took part in the Third Annual Juneteenth Freedom Day Celebration June 13th at the Main Pavilion at the VA and the 50th Anniversary Vietnam War Commemoration at the MOA on Flag Day, June 14th.
June 7th, Community Engagement represented the Navy League assisting with the PGA Pro-Am Foundation Charity Golf Tournament at Southview Country Club. June 8th, the Navy League of the United States, Minnesota Council, was in the West St. Paul Days Parade and June 9th, Lacey represented the Navy League volunteering for the Multiple Sclerosis 150 Bike Ride.

Upcoming events include the Old Settlers Parade in Barrett on June 22nd, the Stars and Stripes Parade at the Fergus Falls Veterans Home June 29th, the Edina 4th of July Parade, the Appreciation Days Parade in Ashby July 20th, the Northwest Water Carnival Parade in Detroit Lakes July 21st, the Minneapolis Aquatennial Torchlight Parade July 24th, the Glenwood Waterama Parade July 28th, the Stockyard Days Parade in New Brighton August 10th and the Fall Round Up Parade in North St. Paul September 19th.
