VP of Community Engagement, Joyce Lacey, represented the Navy League of the United States, Minnesota Council, at the MACV Ribbon Cutting for the completion of three new Housing for Heros homes in Minneapolis October 22nd.
She helped prepare and serve Veterans Dinner at the Ashby American Legion Post 357 on November 11th and served Thanksgiving Dinner at Union Gospel Mission on Thanksgiving Day. On November 24th, VP Community Engagement helped with Turkey Bingo for Military Children and their families at the Ashby American Legion Post 357. Everyone went home with a turkey or bakery item or door prize or a little of each!
Lacey cheered on our St. Paul Winter Carnival Titan, Prince of the North Wind Representative, Eddy Wiegert, at each of the St. Paul Winter Carnival Ambassadors Socials October 15th, November 19th and December 17th at the Moose Lodge in South St. Paul.
She also attended the Twin Cities Squadron Chief Pinning Ceremony of Josef Jirik at the Ben Franklin Readiness Center.
Lacey delivered Poinsettias to Veterans Homes and Hospitals throughout the state for the holiday season and was in charge of the Navy League Table at the Army Navy Game Official Watch Party at the Ballentine VFW in Minneapolis. She promoted our Navy League and the Veterans Museum, while offering candy and cookies to attendees. She made a stop at the Wreaths Across America Ceremony to lay some wreaths at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, before heading to the VFW for the game, wishing everyone a blessed holiday season and joyous new year!
Possible parades in 2025 include the St. Paul Winter Carnival Grande Day Parade January 25th, the St. Paul Winter Carnival Torchlight Parade February 1st, the Fergus Falls Veterans Home Stars and Stripes Parade June 29th, the Fourth of July Parade in Edina July 4th, the Ashby Appreciation Days Parade July 20th, the Detroit Lakes Water Carnival Parade July 21st, the Minneapolis Aquatennial Torchlight Parade July 23rd, the New Brighton Stockyard Days Parade August 9th, the Minnesota State Fair Parade and the North St. Paul Fall Round Up Parade September 18th.
