Ex - USS Minneapolis Saint Paul SSN 708

EX - USS MINNEAPOLIS SAINT PAUL SSN 708 was a Los Angeles class submarine and the first vessel of the Navy for the metropolitan area of Minneapolis-Saint Paul.  The ship was commissioned on 10 March 1984.  The ship was decommissioned in August 2008 after more than 24 years of service.


Ex-USS Saint Paul CA 73

EX-USS SAINT PAUL CA 73 was a Baltimore-class cruiser and the second to be named for Saint Paul.  The ship was commissioned on 17 February 1945.  Saint Paul saw action in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam before being retired in 1980.  The bell from the Saint Paul is now displayed in the St. Paul City Hall. 


Ex-USS Minneapolis CA 35

EX-USS MINNEAPOLIS CA 35 was built for the Navy before the outbreak of World War II.  She was the second ship named for Minneapolis.  The ship served in the Pacific Theater and received 16 battle stars for World War II service, placing her among the most decorated US ships of World War II.  The ship was decommissioned in 1947.


Ex-USS Minnesota BB 22

EX-USS MINNESOTA BB 22 was the commissioned in March 1907 and joined the Great White Fleet for circumnavigation of the globe in 1908–1909.  She supported efforts to put down an insurrection in Cuba in 1912 and patrolled the coast of Mexico in 1913–1914 during the Mexican Revolution.  The ship returned to service when the United States entered World War I in April 1917.  The ship was decommissioned in 1921. 


Steam Frigate USS Minnesota - Commissioned 1855

STEAM FRIGATE USS MINNESOTA was a wooden steam frigate in the United States Navy.  Launched in 1855 and commissioned eighteen months later, the ship served in east Asia for two years before being decommissioned. She was recommissioned at the outbreak of the Civil War and returned to service as the flagship of the North Atlantic Blockading Squadron.  In October 1895, Minnesota was loaned to the Massachusetts Naval Militia, continuing that duty until August 1901 when she was sold to Thomas Butler & Company of Boston. She eventually was burned to salvage her iron fittings.
