Sponsored DWM Heartland Leadership Forum
The Heartland Leadership Forum is named in honor of Minnesota’s own Donald W. McCarthy, a graduate with the Naval Academy’s Class of 1944. Don served in both World War II and the Korean War. He then climbed the corporate leadership ladder with Northern States Power (now Xcel Energy) to become Chairman and CEO. During his illustrious career, Don also led many community organizations that helped to shape the Twin Cities metro area to become the vibrant business and social community it is today.
The U.S. Navy plays a significant role in all we do as Americans. Our ships constantly sail the globe, preserve peace, ensure free trade by protecting shipping lanes, and project power when necessary. Working from the international waters of the world’s oceans, America’s global trading partners know and trust the U.S. Navy will be there to maintain stability. One of our alumni chapter's mission is to bring our country’s national security leaders to you so you can hear firsthand their views on globally important issues.
It is an honor for us to host such a distinguished national and military leader on such a timely topic. Please join us and your fellow Minnesota business leaders on April 29th for an informative and enjoyable evening with Admiral Mike Rogers
